May 21: Energy Transition in SE Europe

PROGRAM AND SPEAKERS TO BE CONFIRMED: This workshop will examine the current state and challenges of energy transition policies in Southeastern Europe. Sessions will include:

• Policy & Implementation Challenges: Why are the National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs) not being fully implemented? What are the key obstacles beyond budget constraints?

• Energy Transition Policy & Grid Integration: What concrete opportunities exist in terms of renewable energy sources (RES) policy and grid development?

• Research & Funding: What are the current knowledge gaps? Where is research funding most needed?

May 22: Industrial & Energy Transitions in Europe

PROGRAM AND SPEAKERS TO BE CONFIRMED: This session will explore the interdependencies between industrial decarbonization and energy infrastructure development, with morning speakers followed by interactive panels or round-table discussions in the afternoon.

Discussion Topics:

• How decarbonization and energy infrastructure development are mutual bottlenecks

• Analysis of the Clean Industrial Deal by an expert from Brussels

• The evolving role of hydrogen in European industry: costs, applications, and necessary actions
